The Nutsamaht: We are One. Our Voices. Our Stories. Indigenous Women’s Pre-Conference to Women Deliver 2019 will inspire and inform and provide you with the information, confidence and connections to advance the rights and wellness of Indigenous women and girls. This pre-conference celebrates Indigenous women of diverse perspectives, strengths, abilities, sexual orientations (Two spirit and LGBTQ+) and gender identity.

This June, more than 6,000 world leaders, influencers, advocates, academics, activists, and journalists will assemble in Vancouver for the Women Deliver 2019 Conference, the world’s largest gathering on the health, rights, and wellbeing of women and girls
Prior to the main conference, the Nutsamaht. We are One. Our Voices. Our Stories. Indigenous Women’s Pre-Conference will be convened by the First Nations Health Authority, BC Ministry of Health Office of the Provincial Health Officer, Provincial Health Services Authority, BC Women’s Hospital Foundation, BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and Aboriginal Health. The Pre-Conference is designed to highlight issues of importance to Indigenous women and girls and celebrate Indigenous women of diverse perspectives, strengths, abilities, sexual orientations (Two spirit and LGBTQ+) and gender identity.
The conference is being hosted on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam, Squamish Nations people.
Attending the Pre-Conference will be Indigenous and non-Indigenous women, youth and elders, as well as leaders, policy and decision-makers. Together we will celebrate the strengths, cultures, and potential of Indigenous women and explore how we can build awareness of Indigenous women’s issues, improve Indigenous wellness outcomes and restore the important role of First Nations women as leaders in their family, community and society. We’ll also exchange knowledge about Indigenous-focused ideas and solutions on a wide range of issues, including how to improve legislation and hardwire cultural safety and humility across society and all systems to affect change.
